12 Journal Prompts for Wonder

Journal prompts for wonder are small questions that get you noticing the stuff that makes life feel a little magic: light, color, kindness, funny little moments. You don't need a fancy journal or a lot of time. Pick one, write for a few minutes and see what shows up.

I put these together because wonder is easy to lose track of when life is busy. These are mine, and you can use them in any notebook you have.

How to use these prompts

  • Pick one a day, or pick whichever one jumps out at you.

  • Write for three to five minutes. A few lines counts.

  • Don't worry about spelling, grammar or making it pretty.

  • If a prompt doesn't land today, skip it and come back later.

Why small prompts work

A big blank page can feel like a lot. A small, specific question gives you somewhere to start, and once you start, the writing usually keeps going on its own. That's the idea behind everything I make here: little invitations that fit into a regular day.

My prompt journal, Tiny Invitations of Wonder, is coming in early 2027. I created it with writer Danielle Langin, who wrote the prompts, and it's full of small invitations for finding whimsy in everyday life. You can join the list to hear when it's ready.
